Florence Restaurants

Florence restaurants are considered around the world to be of a high standard offering simple, tasty dishes. Florentine cuisine is sometimes seen as rather traditional, with ingredients such as cereal, fruit, extra virgin olive oil, vegetables and wine as staples, but traditional should not be mistaken as lacking in quality as this region has some of the best food in Italy.

About Florence

Dishes to try while in Florence are: bistecca alla fiorentina, a large piece of Florentine steak and a must for all meat eaters; fagioli all'uccelletto, beans fired in oil and tomato sauce; trippa alla fiorentina, tripe with tomato and parmesan and lastly, the many types of crostini.

Florence Cafè

Florence restaurants offer not only a wide range of local produce transformed into feasts for the palate but also an array of wines from the region, one of the best known perhaps are the Chianti wines. There are four types of Chianti produced in the area; Chianti Classico, Chianti Colli Fiorentini, Chianti Rufina and Chianti Montespertoli. Other wines from the region include Pomino and Vin Santo.

Florence restaurants often have a cover charge and a tip of 10% is usually added to the bill.
